Late Collection Policy November 2017

Policy Aim

To enable staff to attend training, meetings and carry out essential marking and lesson preparation after school by ensuring timely collection of children.

From January 2018 Governors are imposing a late collection charge for children who are not collected from school on time.

Parents who wish to use the After School club because of work commitments need to contact Caroline Gartan, Clubs Manager on 07464 490170 or by email at caroline.gartan@newingtongreen.islington.sch.uk

The late collection policy will operate the following time timetable from the end of the School day.

School Day finishes at 3.30pm.

Teachers will remain in the playground until 3.40pm.

Children who are not collected by 3.40pm will be escorted to the Beech classroom where the receptionist will register them.

A late fee of £3 will be charged to parents, for children who are still in school between 3.45pm – 4.00pm.

At 4pm children will be taken to After School Club. Parents will be expected to pay a fee of £13.25 for the session.

On the second occasion late collection fines will apply and the school will keep records of this.

Please note the Safeguarding Officer is notified of all repeated occurrences of late collection regardless of whether it takes place at school, an enrichment club or the after school club.

Enrichment clubs finish at 4.30pm

Children not collected at 4.30pm will be taken to the after school club where the Clubs Manager will supervise them.

A late fee of £3 will be charged to parents, for children who are still in school between 4.35pm – 4.45pm.

At 4.45pm the After School Club fee of £13.25 per session will be incurred for each child not collected.

On the second occasion late collection fines will apply and the school will keep records of this.

Specialist Clubs

Specialist clubs may extend beyond 4.30pm, parents will be advised in advance of the finish/collection time.

A late fee of £3 will be charged to parents for children who are collected up to 15 minutes late.

On the second occasion late collection fines will apply and the school will keep records of this.

After 15 minutes the child will be taken to the After School Club where a charge of £13.25 will be applied.

After School Club finishes at 7pm

Children not collected by 7pm parents will incur a payment of £3.00 per 10 minutes per child up to 7.30pm at which point Social Care will be contacted.
